My Coffee Mug

Excited to start the new year with a new work mug for my morning coffee. It's the little things.

My morning coffee is a ritual for me. I weigh out and grind my beans. I pour 50mls of hot water into the pour-over to warm and wet the filter paper. I add 27g of Ethiopian, lightly roasted beans to the grinder. After grinding and dumping the water from my mug, I add the beans to the pour-over and pour 50ml of water into the beans to bloom for 30-seconds. I then add 200ml of water and wait approximately 1-minute while the water drains into the cup. I add a second pour of 200ml of water to the pour-over and wait until it finishes draining.

But the most important part of my morning coffee ritual is the mug I drink from; I use a "work" mug for work days.

This year as I start Wethington Leadership, I needed a new "work" mug and my partner surprised me on Christmas morning with this beauty.

Do you have a coffee or tea mug that's important to your day?
