Have you ever looked at your leaders and what you see reminds you of burnt marshmallows over a campfire?
Yeah, me neither, but I do love me a well toasted marshmallow.
What you are seeing is probably burnout.
McKinsey's 2022 study on workplace burnout found that over 1/4 of employees are burnt out. And that was before workforce reductions were added to the already stretched teams and leaders.
Here are some steps you can take for your leaders and teams.
📢 Forster open communication. Don't wait for stress and disengagement to affect your teams.
🪣 Fill the tank. By offering opportunities to disconnect and helping set boundaries for work hours, your leaders can fill their tanks instead of running on empty.
🏆 Offer Coaching. Coaching can help leaders overcome whatever struggles they face, in a safe and supportive environment. Including finding moving past burnout.
In my work with HR and L&D leads, I've helped with both 1:1 coaching and developing group coaching programs. It's not easy, but it's always worth it.
It's a lot harder to deal with after someone is completely burnt out.
